Welcome

Welcome to our blog to travel with us on our journey to the Umbrian region of Italy. Lisette McClung and Kathleen Courville, both art teachers in CCISD, will be traveling to Italy on July 9th to begin a fantastic journey into the study of plein-air painting in a region that saw the birth of the Renaissance. From the 12th to the 15th centuries, Umbria was the apex of the arts, carrying the Middle Ages into the Renaissance.

  10. How fabulous! Soak it all up. By the way, could discuss "Plein-air" in a future posting? Not familiar with that term.

It sounds like your trip is going well. Once school starts you'll have to show everyone some of the artwork you made. The trip sounds like so much fun and I hope it's really exciting. We had the video confrence thing on the renaissance and now you get to see where it started!
